Stanford Memorial Church

I was raised in the Roman Catholic faith, so I have a basic appreciation for religion, churches and all things spiritual. In recent years, I haven’t been practising any sort of religion, but I do acknowledge it’s influence on how it has shaped me as a person and my own beliefs on spirituality.
While in Palo Alto, California the other day, I was given a quick tour of Stanford University. The main purpose to visit the Stanford Memorial Church. What I didn’t realize, was how stunning the church would be. On the outside, the front facade is covered in this amazing mosaic, but the real awe moment is when you walk into the church. Seriously, the image doesn’t begin to express the magnitude and beauty of all it’s details.
Pumpkin Orange

You know it’s autumn, cause pumpkins are beginning to show up, apples are being picked and leaves are starting to change colour. On our apple picking trip to Chudleigh’s over the weekend, I brought the both the Nikon and the Canon with me. Strangely enough it seemed to be a huge Nikon user day in the orchard. Not a Canon in sight. Of course this caused me to shoot with the Nikon more.
This is the actual colour the camera caught and recorded to JPG. The only thing I did in photoshop was resize. I was stunned. I’ve started a habit of shooting both RAW and JPG. It really makes it easier for me to share pictures with others, especially when I don’t have time to do some Raw conversions.
Tunnel Vision

I lived in Scarborough a very long time, but it wasn’t until last week when I finally walked through the covered sidewalk tunnel that crosses over Mc Cowan Rd towards the mall. I’ve always wanted to shoot the tunnel, but had never taken the time to do so. I always found it odd, especially because I didn’t think it was used very often. During our quick jaunt across the bridge, we encountered at least half a dozen people. I was quite surprised.
